The Newville Clarence Boyd 7-8 Team I eliminated Red Land with a score of 10-5 on Wednesday after 4 games in 4 days. Most of the regular Newville pitching staff was ineligible to pitch due to mandatory rest requirements after the tough games played the previous days. So, Newville turned to Bryce Smoker to start the game. This was Bryce's first pitching appearance in the tournament and he was nervous. The Red Land team scored 4 runs in the 1st inning to tie the game 4-4. |

With three games in as many days, the Newville Clarence Boyd 7-8 Team I suffered it's first loss on Tuesday evening against South Middleton 3-2. The team played hard, but a few mistakes at the wrong times cost them, and Newville's bats just were not getting the job done. Now, that's not saying that Newville wasn't hitting the ball though. Newville only had 2 Ks during the game, but also only had 2 hits. There were 8 hits that just couldn't find a hole and resulted in outs for the South Middleton defense. |
